What do I need to set up a Hevday Interactive Logic Module?
What do I need to set up a Hevday Interactive Logic Module? Firstly, obtain your free Hevday Interactive Logic software and install it. You can do this via our Download page. Once installed you will be able to try out the various facilities provided, such as the multi-level schematic editor, and state diagram and symbol editors. You can also look at the data and signal display windows, but will not be able to view actual signals or data or run your circuit until you have a Logic Module operational and you will need Xilinx development software prior to compiling your circuits. Next obtain and install a copy of the free Xilinx ISE WebPACK development software from the Xilinx Download Center, and license it as required. Finally, obtain a Hevday Logic Development Kit via our Purchase page. That will provide you with a Logic Module, a Development Comms Card and a power cable. You will need to provide a power supply and a network cable. The power supply should be rated at +5VDC ± 5% with at least 0.5A continuous output. Operating the Logic Module at a high clock rate with heavy I/O usage may require more current. The network cable should be a standard straight-through cable if the Communications Card is to connect to a network hub, or a crossover cable if it is to be connected directly to a PC network port without any other devices on the network. The Communications Card will work with either a 10MHz or 100 MHz network. Detailed instructions for setting up the system are included with each Development Kit, and appear in our QuickStart Guide |
